Matts latest painting St George and the Dragon

For a change I thought you might like to see my son Matthew's latest painting, this is his third one that he has done and it is approx 6 ft x 6 ft he works in Acrylics and PVA and is on his final year of his Fine Arts Degree, the first year and a half he made sculptures and then decided to have a go at painting, he does not use a brush and has devised his own technique which the Dean of the University said they have never seen anything like it before and have it now hanging along with his other two paintings which are also huge on the main stairways of the University building so needless to say I am very proud of him and wanted to share his latest with you all. He has called it St George and the Dragon

Old Swinford School Doorway in the snow

This is the old doorway of the Headmasters entrance to the Old Swinford Hospital School
http://www.oshsch.com/ This is painted on Arches paper and is a quarter sheet size. I worked from a black and white photocopy of the colour photo and yes I know it looks strange but the snow is only falling across one side of the picture.

This school is only a short way away from where I live and is a beautiful old building and highly thought of in the area

Finally painting again - Blue Door

I bet you all wondered when I would post something again, I have had a few problems of late and one of those is hurting my middle finger of my right hand and for the past couple of weeks have had great difficulty holding a brush however have just finished this Blue Door which is from a photo I found on Wet Canvas. I hope to have some more paintings that are nearly done finished over the next week or two and then in about another 4 weeks will be able to hold a needle and do some more embroidery and it is stitting there looking at me shouting 'stitch me' but I find it just too difficult with two fingers strapped together, still one good thing like this there is no pain.
I have used some artistic licence with this painting and added some extra wysteria and a couple of planters for added interest, hope you all like it

Its been framed

It has been framed, I have chosen this frame for my beautiful watercolour painted by Rhonda as I thought that the wood looked just like a real window frame so we now have a window within a window.

Bargello

As Bargello seems to be all the rage at the moment I realised that I had never added a picture of my Loretta Spears design Bargello Fantasy after I had it framed. This was made as a Companion piece to my Bargello Symphony

Princess and the Pea

This is a blackwork design that I have recently finished of a Marion Scoular design from her Fairytale series of 'The Princess and the Pea' this design was a pure delight to stitch and I customised it making the princess to be a little Redhead with curls after one of my grand-daughters called Holly .

If you look very closely at the bottom of all the mattresses you can just see the little green pea on the bed.
