Found a pretty and delicate design of some Fuchsias so decided to have a play around, turned out ok but have got problems getting a decent photo and its too large for my scanner but it gives you some idea

Am really excited today as have joined the tutorials of Anna Mason and her amazing botanical studies just hope I can keep up and manage not to disgrace myself as my paintings are a bit naff compared to many but I enjoy them which is what counts when you get to my age

Back painting again

After a long break from painting I have now started off again and have just finished these two, one is of the island in Venice and it  is just so bright and cheerful looking I just had to paint it

and the other is of a sea/landscape of Antibes in the South of France. and for a change I made it a watercolour and ink

I had great fun painting them and am now pondering over what to paint next, to either finish off several of the ones I have got half painted or to start something new so only time will tell I am so out of practice so need to get a going and hope I can show some improvement with the next ones

My latest playing around

A short while ago I was in a slump with my embroidery and fancied doing something totally different and I thought I know I will have a go at making some bears, I was very lucky that a fantastic Bear Artist lives a short distance from me who when I contacted her invited me to have some tutorials from her and she is Danni from BarrelBears and my first bear that I made is Arnold
I then thought of my best friend who lives in the USA and who I know loves pincushions so I found a cute little kit for a bear pincushion from Kympatti Bears in Australia and this is the little Ted I made for her

I then thought what fun it was making bears and found a cute little kit for a mini bear at a Doll and Bear show that I went to and this is the result

The next challenge was to make another miniature bear and I made this little lady as a gift for my best friend and know how much she loves springtime called her Willow as she reminds me of the colour of the new willow tree leaves when they start to come out in the spring

I also have a few others in production of different sizes and different types of fabric and different types of mohair so watch this space and hope to have them to show you in the not too distant future

Loretta Spears Mystery 13 'Superstition'

I stitched this some time ago but did not get around to finishing it so decided to make it into a little sachet. I backed it with a pretty pink satin the same colour as the little heart shaped beads that I have added to the corners along with a little loop effect from some pretty pink based coloured seed beads
